Our Weekend

We'ze had a good weekend. Poppa went to play poker at his friend's house on Friday night and didn't get home it; 1:30 AM so we had Momma to ourselves. Uncle Gimme and Bob finished up one of the bedrooms so we started to paint on Friday. We'ze got up early on Saturday cause Momma and Poppa were going up to North Jersey. The stopped at IKEA and Momma bought us a teddy bear. We named her Ginger. Uncle Crumley made dinner for us on Saturday night so we went over there. But the best day of the weekend was Sunday. Momma and Poppa spent the day painting and pulling up the rug in the bedroom. Momma had to run out to Home Depot for some paint and she took me!!! I'ze hadn't been there since I was a a little puppa and lived there in Reno. Monte didn't come with us because he was laying out in the yard working on his tan so he can be a real Golden Retriever like me :-). And then later that evening Momma and Poppa took us to the park where we played with our friend Carlie for a while. We had so much fun. We played in the water and the three us of us ganged up on some little kick dog... hehehe. BIG DOGS RULE! Uncle Gimme and Bob were here this morning again. I love my Uncle Gimme. He gives good pettings. Poppa leaves for Chicago tomorrow night but he'll be back for the 4th of July festivities. The parade will come right by out house so we can watch it from our window - Yippee.

Cole spent the day with us today

Our day started with an email from Aunt Corey confirming that Cole would be here today. As I stood next to Momma's laptop and read the email my tailywag wouldn't stop. Finally after what seemed like ages but was only like an hour Aunt Corey brought Cole over. We all ran straight into the yard to that Cole could check it all out and start marking her territory. We ran around the yard for a very long time before we decided that we were too hot and wanted to come inside. When we did Cole was a kiss ass and followed Momma around the house everywhere she went - she even tried to walk into the bathroom with her. When Cole wasn't busy following Momma around she was hanging out with Bob and Uncle Gimme who were busy building and arch in the dining room for Momma - Cole says their workmanship got her stamp of approval and the rest of us agree - it looks really good - Uncle Gimme really knows what he's doing. We all spent quite a bit of time in Momma's office laying around on the cool floor while Momma worked. The best part of the day was the icy cream truck of course. Momma bought a cone for each of us. Cole should come over every day. Oh an napping together was fun too. Thanks Noona and PopPop for letting Cole come over and Aunt Corey for bringing her.

Cole MIGHT be visiting us tomorrow

not sure yet. If she is Aunt Corey will bring her over in the morning. That will be great fun. We'll have so much fun and Uncle Gimme will have to watch over all of us while Momma works! hehehe He's gonna have his work cut out for him.

All These Little Lights

Momma is back from Donna's. Momma said she had a lot of fun but Donna really needs to get her girls a pup. Anyway, we'ze so happy to see her. It was a nice surprise when she came home this morning cause Poppa was at the gym and when we heard someone at the door we assumed it was him returning. But it was Momma!! We smothered her with lovins. Tonight we'ze went over to Aunt Corey's for dinner. Aunt Corey sure does make some delicious blueberry pie - we'ze know cause Maddy didn't finish hers so we got it. Then we'ze was outside and Momma heard the icy cream truck in the distance. Momma set out in search of it and about 6 blocks later she found it. Our Momma is soooo good to us because not only did she run around the neighborhood to find it for us, she sprinted all the way back (very carefully) to get us ours before they completely melted. And Momma even got one for our friend Cole. Cole's Poppa said that Cole might come visit us on Wednesday but he's not sure - we sure do hope so. However, one thing that we'ze is sure of is that contrary to Cole's Poppa's belief, Momma does not have too much time on her hands! After all she's not the one blogging - I is! So after the icy cream and barking with Cole for a little bit we headed home. We'ze was on out front lawn and there were a ton of little lights floating around the front lawn - Momma says they'ze lightning bugs - we'ze never seen them before - they're like little fairy bugs. I'ze told Momma I was going to eat some and maybe my belly would light up but she won't let me because she says that's cruel. I guess it is. I wouldn't want someone to eat me so they could see if they can bark. Oh and another really cool thing is that we'ze got baby bunnies in our yard!! They is so cute. I tried to run up to one to take a pic but it hopped away really fast. I will try again tomorrow.

Momma is leaving and Kitty is too.

Momma is going to visit her friend Donna in PA. She's very excited and we'ze not too happy about it. She can't be excited about being away from us. And Cousin Kitty is going home today too because Aunt Corey is back. As a parting gift Kitty scratched up Momma pretty good this morning when Momma tried to give her her meds. Uncle Gimme hasn't been here in a couple of days - hopefully he'll be back on Monday and we can get some more sweet lovins. Since Momma is leaving us, Poppa said we'ze can sleep with him and we'ze planning on partying like rock stars!!

Guess who's back?? Cousin Kitty is staying with us til Friday. Momma fed Kitty some chicken tonight. It sure did smell good but Momma wouldn't let us have any. And just now Momma gave Kitty her meds. Picture this - Kitty is under the china closet. Momma has the meds and brings them over to where Kitty is. She proceeds to stick her hand under the china closet, meanwhile Kitty has been growling and hissing at Momma since she saw her across the room with the meds. Momma tries to pull Kitty out and gets Kitty's entire body out except for her back right leg. This is because in an attempt to escape the meds Kitty has hooked her leg on the bottom of the china closet. Unfortunately Kitty doesn't realize that Momma's will is much stronger than any of ours. Kitty wouldn't let go and Momma didn't want to hurt her by forcing her out so Momma wrapped her around around Kitty and opened her mouth up and gave her the meds. You should have heard Kitty!! The second Momma let go she ran back under the china closet. Next time she comes out we'll give her big wet kisses with our big wet puppy tongues - that's sure to make her feel better.

The Icy Cream Truck Was Just Here

and now that school is out for the summer we'ze think it might be coming every day!! It's been a good last couple of days. Uncle Gimme has been here with his friend Bob. This morning, Momma let me run out onto the front lawn to greet them as they were walking up. Bob had a bagel in his one hand as he reached out to pet me with the other - guess who finished his bagel?? I swiped a chunk of it out of his hand - hehehe - he was shocked. He let my brother have a piece then too. Uncle Gimme warned him not to have food around me! Uncle Gimme told Momma today that we'ze great because we'ze don't bother them while they'ze working. We'ze no fools - we'ze wants the hideous wallpaper gone too. And the more we let them work the sooner it will be gone.

Uncle Gimme Was Here

Uncle Gimme was here today with his friend Bob. They'ze coming down to help Momma and Poppa with the house - Momma and Poppa can use all the help they can get.

They'ze was busy today taking down wallpaper and from the looks of it they will be coming back everyday for while cause every room is wallpapered and it's no small job taking it down. As you can imagine Uncle Gimme is thrilled and is probably wondering how he got himself into this. hehehe

Unfortunately Uncle Gimme has been working more than I think is acceptable. I think he should spend at least half his time here petting my belly!!

We'ze back from camping

First, Scott, Jen, Uncle Dart and Maggie were here on Friday. We'ze had so much fun with them. We especially loved the dact that we got to sleep in bed with them which Momma and Poppa don't let us do. I'ze got to sleep in bed with Scott and Jen. That Jen girl really hogs the bed so there wasn't room for Monte to stay very long. Momma had brand new clean sheets she was saving for Uncle Darth since he's allergic to us. Good thing Momma went through all that trouble cause as soon as she was done setting up the bed, Monte was in it leaving his hairs there so Uncle Darth wouldn't be able to breathe at night. Fortunately he survived unhurt - well kinda. He was petting Sporkie and she'd had enough. She let him know by chomping on his hand. They'ze not on speaking terms right now. I'll post pics from their visit soon.

When they left on Saturday, we'ze went camping with Aunt Corey and Larissa's families. It was a ton of fun. We had the entire section of the woods to ourselves and we'ze never been out in the woods before. The best part was that the kids kept leaving food around and we'ze got to eat it! We'ze got 5 hotdogs!! It was so hot! Aunt Corey brought our pool for us. We didn't use it much because there was a creek nearby but the kids sure loved it. All was good til nighttime. Me and my brother take after Poppa and we'ze don't live the dark so much. I'ze was on guard all night while we slept in our tent. Yes, all four of us slept in the same tent. And every time I heard a noise I'd bark. Momma wasn't crazy about that. Poppa was passed out. But I'ze a guard dog - what's I suppose to do?

We'ze was all exhausted when we got home today since we didn't get much sleep. So we all went straight to bed.

Feathered Friends

I know you may not be able to tell what it is but it's a bird's nest. Poppa pointed out to us today that birds have made a nest on one of our gutters. We'ze seen the Momma bird moving around in there but we'ze hasn't seen or heard any baby birds yet.

Uncle Darth and Aunt Maggie are on their way and Scott and Jen too!!

I love my dolphin

Momma brought us this dolphin from Florida and we love it. We take it up and downstairs all the time.

It's been quite a last couple of days and we'ze is so glad that Momma and Poppa is back home with us. We loved staying at Grandma's but we missed our brothers and sister. Although we could do without the out of control heat that we are having. It's been over 100 the last couple of days. We'ze been running the central air since we got home but its still so hot that we'ze gonna borrow and AC from Grandma - thanks Grandma!! We'ze really need it - we'ze wearing fur coats ya know.

We have an exciting week ahead of us. On Friday, my Uncle Darth, Aunt Maggie and Scott and Jen are coming to visit. Yippee! I'ze never met Scott and Jen but Momma likes them so they must be good people (Momma doesn't like just anyone). And Uncle Darth and Aunt Maggie always have lots of pettings to offer us - so we love them too. I hope that Uncle Darth's allergies won't be too bad. The on Saturday we'ze going camping w/ Aunt Corey, Uncle Crumley and the girls. Larissa and her girls are coming too. So is her husband Mark. I don't know if I'ze ever met him before. Larissa's girls are really nice to us and Chloe gives us lots of pettings. We'ze hoping to make a dog lover out of Larissa this weekend. We'ze figuring that with all these extra people around this weekend someone is bound to drop some food. (accidentally on purpose :-) )

Then Sunday is Father's Day - I wonder what we'll get him.

Momma and Poppa Are Coming Home Today!

We are so excited because Momma and Poppa are coming home today. They are picking us up and taking us home to see Sporkie and Tanner and Red. We had a good time with Grandma and Grandpa and Cousin Gordon and Uncle Gimmie, but we missed Momma and Poppa. Today cousin Gordon took us for a little walk because it was too hot to go to far. We played in the yard for a while, and we ate icy cream cones. Uncle Gimmie played ball with us, but we were too hot to fetch. We went back in the AC and he played ball with us inside. We also played wrestling with him. We had lots of doggy treats and icy cream cones and cups. Momma and Poppa got to Grandma's house around 6 p.m. and we were so happy to see them. We gave them lots of kisses. We are on our way home now with Momma and Poppa. We will visit Grandma and Grandpa again soon!

We Had A Play Date!

We are having a lot of fun! Cousin Gordon took us for another walk and we met a new friend. Her name is Cloey. Cloey and her Mom came back to our house and we played in the backyard for about an hour or so. We all had biscuits and we ran around and wrestled with one another. Pam, Cloey's Mom, couldn't believe how beautiful we are. She invited us over to her house for another play date. Maybe cousin Gordon will take us there today, but we're not sure, because today is very very hot. We might just want to stay in the AC! We had our icy cream cones and they were good. We also had doggie ice cream cups they were delicious! Momma, Monte and I miss you and Poppa and we love you very much. You don't have to worry about us, we are having a good time at Grandma's and Grandpa's. But, we might be getting a Little Spoiled. That's okay, because that's what Grandparents are supposed to do!

Still At Grandma's

Hi Momma & Poppa, Monte and I are having a good time. Yesterday we went for a walk with cousin Gordan. We met many new friends along the way. There sure are a lot of dogs in this neighborhood. We met another Golden Retriever, but she's not as cute as us. Everyone who talked with cousin Gordan and us, said to tell you and Dad how beautiful we are. When we got home we'ze were hot and tired, so was cousin Gordon. We had some water and icy cubes, and a icy cream cone and we took a nap in the AC. Last night after dinner we went out in the yard and played with Grandpa and Grandma. We played ball and frisbee. We had another icy cream cone (shh, don't tell Momma) and it was so good. When we came in Uncle Gimmie played ball with us and tried to teach us to play dead. We didn't understand what he wanted us to do. Maybe next time. Well, bye for now, we miss you and Poppa. We love you!

We miss you already! But, we are having a good time. Hopefully the sun comes out today, so Uncle Gimme can take us for a walk. We had our breakfast and Monte had his medicine, we are both doing good. Just got back

from Aunt Corey's. Momma took Kitty home yesterday and Monte missed being smacked around by her so much that he jumped at the invitation to go over. We'ze was over there for hours and Cole came over to play. We'ze all hung out in the yard for a while and Monte and Cole chased each other around the yard while I'ze laid back on the lawn chair with Lauren and chilled out. The icy cream truck came and Momma bought us all icy cream. Thanks Momma. Aunt Corey went out and left us in charge. Bad idea. While Momma was putting Lauren and Maddy to bed we got into the kitchen garbage can and got good eats. That Lauren threw out some perfectly good spaghettis. Momma was less that thrilled when she walked downstairs and found garbage strewn through out the kitchen, dining and living room. Monte and I just stood there pointing at one another - "it wasn't me". That'll teach her to feed us first and then put the girls to bed. We'ze saw Bill and Lindsay today too. They are both reading my blog and I is so excited about that! They told Momma today that Monte is the prettiest pup they'ze ever seen. WTF?? What about me? I don't care - I'ze Uncle Crumley's fave. I'm "his girl Sunny".
