Momma and Poppa brought the snow with them

Momma and Poppa returned early on Saturday morning just as the snow was starting to fall. I'ze so happy that they are home with us. And this time, they've actually put the suitcases away which I think means they plan on sticking around for a while. The snowfall left us with about 2 ft of snow which we couldn't navigate through because it came up to our chests. Poppa was great - he built us tunnels in the snow so we could get to the back of the yard to go potty.

T minus 10 hours and counting - Momma & Poppa are on their way home!!! Today is Day 9 at the prison - AKA The Crumley House - and we could not be more excited that they are finally going to spring us from this joint! Aunt Corey was sick last week, so she slacked off on the walks for a little while, turning us over to Uncle Crumley, who thinks two blocks is a walk. The kids have barely dropped any food, our walks haven't taken us near any cold water to swim in, and they seem to have a problem with Monty sleeping on the couches here. All in all it sucks. But there have been a few high points - Cole's Dad came over and gave us some pettins, Maddy still loves us A LOT, some little baby fed us goldfish today (not REAL ones!), and Monty has left some GREAT presents for Aunt Corey in the backyard. Oh, and it's supposed to SNOW tonight and tomorrow!!! Maybe Momma & Poppa will take us to the park in the snow tomorrow - woo hoo!!!

Mamma's Away, but it's ok (kinda)

Hi All.... As I posted on Sunday, Mamma is away in Europe, yet again! I'ze sad because we'ze don't get to spend our dayz with her, although Dale was by yesterday to play with us a bit (he said he needed to work though, what is that! I needz my attention). Aunt Corey also stopped by to check on us, as did our neighbor Carrie. So we'ze doin ok....

On a happy note, there is peace and harmony in the family as you can see in the attached picture... although as you can telll, there's no room in bed for Pappa. I'ze do like snugglin with Pappa while Mamma is away, but he just complains way too much about the sleepin arrangements... get over it pappa!

We're having an early dinner today cause Momma is leaving AGAIN and this time she'll b away for two weeks!!! Poppa is apparently going to meet her on Thursday and we're back to Aunt Corey's. Which we don't mind but it's like we just stayed there. We had a good weekend though. It snowed hard yesterday and Momma and Poppa took me for a walk in the snow - it was great. We went again today but it wasn't snowing just really cold. We've had a lazy afternoon while watching Momma pack and unpack 10 times!

Bald Spot

Momma and Poppa are convinced that I'm acting weird. They say I'ze being extra needy - I'm not. I just know that they will be going away again soon. To be sure they took me to the vet tonight. I'm pissed. The doctor shaved my leg in order to take blood! WTF! I look like a freak!!! Blood work is back already - It said - "Sunshine is fine. Your Momma and Poppa are hypochondriacs!"

It's a sad weekend

Bad news to report from home.... we lost our dear brother Red this weekend. Red was a fun fish.... he was always spunky in swimming around his bowl... we really liked watching him for hours at a time..... but he passed away yesterday.... Momma found him. We'ze all sad about the loss, especially Momma.... Red always shared the office with Momma and kept her company. We'ze in the office a lot too, but Red was always by her side. He will be missed. To try to comfort Momma, me and my brother jumped up in bed at 1 am last night to snuggle with her to make her feel better... she complained, but we'ze know she really wants us up in bed with her... and she makes such a nice pillow! We also got our Christmas tree this weekend. It's up in the sunroom. We'ze decorating it today - after it warms up in the sunroom, that is. It's 37 degrees this morning - way to cold to be spending any time out there. But it'll be in the 50's this afternoon, so we'll decorate the Christmas tree and then take our daily trip to the park for a run and a swim......

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone

This may have been the best Thanksgiving ever. First of all, our friend Coby is visiting us for Thanksgiving. Neither Momma and Poppa had to work today - it was really nice having them both at home. They took us for a walk today and we met up with our other friend Kobe. So me, my brother, Kobe and Coby all played together. After our playtime we came home to watch the parade.... see Santa? This afternoon we went to Aunt Corey's for a big Thanksgiving feast. We has some delicious turkey! After the feeding frenzy we went for a long walk in the woods - that was fun. We got to run all around and at one point we were walking over a bridge and Monte jumped off and into the water. Momma panicked for a second but then realized Monte was swimming just fine. Aunt Corey wasn't too pleased about this either. Especially went Monte came out soaking wet and shook right next to her! When we got back to Aunt Corey's we laid around for the rest of the night! We were exhausted. I hope that Momma and Poppa let us sleep in bed tonight as a Thanksgiving treat.

a busy week ahead

We've spent the week at Aunt Corey's because both Momma and Poppa have been away for work all week. Momma came to pick us up from Aunt Corey's last night and we were so excited. Monte jumped all over Momma. Don't get me wrong we live Aunt Corey's house it's just that there is nothing like Home Sweet Home and we'ze missed our siblings. After a lazy morning of naps, we've went for a very long walk this afternoon and helped Poppa in the yard collecting leaves - the pile is bigger than me! Momma just told me her and Poppa need to go out again tomorrow night and they won't be home til really late so we'll stay with Aunt Corey and then Momma will come get us on Monday. Then on Tuesday, Coby is coming over - he's visiting us til Friday - yippee. Thursday is Thanksgiving and that means lots of turkey for me. Can't wait.

Rain, Rain, Rain

It's been raining all week and I'ze sick of it. It's dark enough already with it getting to be night so early these days, it would be nice to see the sun for a while. I'ze heard today that we'll be heading over to Chateau de Crumley for the week cause Momma and Poppa will both be away this week. But it won't be much fun as it was the last time. Aunt Corey realized when we were there last weekend that she was overfeeding us and has sad she's going to cut back - ah, come on, Aunt Corey. So Uncle Crumley is supposed to some pick us up on Monday, that's gonna be one wild ride! Yippee! I call shotgun.

Monte sent his penpals a package today

Poppa helped Monte write a letter to his new friends and Momma helped Monte sign it by painting his paw red and having him step on the letter. It's really cute. And Momma let Monte pick out what he wanted to send to the kids so Monte sent them Pepperidge Farms Goldfish. He picked that because those are his favorite treat. I'ze gotta say - I likes them too!

It's a Scary Halloween

Our day started with quite the scare. We'ze was walking through the park when you saw a small dog by himself in the creek sitting under a tree. We'ze went to say hello but he wasn't too happy about it. Also it turns out he wasn't a little dog - he was a bandito - a raccoon!

He started yelling at my right away and I scurried around looking for a way out. My brother who happens to be the best brother in the world distracted the raccoon while I got out. Him and the raccoon got into it pretty bad but I don't think either of them got hurt. Momma and Poppa were screaming their heads off at Monte telling him to get out of there. He finally did once he knew I was safe. Luckily the rest of the walk was uneventful.

Now we're sitting at home waiting for trick or treaters. We got dressed up too. We'ze and angel and a devil.

They'ze Crazy

Aunt Corey just informed us of why we'ze her houseguests this weekend (Momma and Poppa don't tell us nothin'). She says they ran all over Washington DC today. In fact, she says they ran 26.2 miles. I told her that would make about 9 trips to the park and I don't understand why they'ze going someplace else when they can just take me and my brother to the park and back like 9 times. I'ze feeling neglected. I'm sure Monte's neglected too but he's been laying around on the couch so he's not complaining. AND Momma forgot to make sure we'ze had food at Aunt Corey's. Luckily she's the best aunt in the world cause she went to our house and picked some up for us. I'ze told her she could just cook us up some steaks or chicken even but she wasn't very agreeable.

Today

It's been a gloomy weekend. It rained a lot yesterday but not so much today although it's been cloudy all day. We did our least favorite thing in the world this morning - we went to go get our nails clipped. It was horrible. But we just got back from the park so we're feeling all better now. :-)

In the mail today

was the most exciting surprise. Monte received a letter from the second grade students in Aunt Jen's class. And each student drew him a picture - my favorite was one of Sponge Bob. Momma told Monte that she'd help him write back to the kids this week.

Peace

After being away from Momma for two weeks and Poppa for a week (and he's gone again this week), we'ze all want to be as close to Momma as possible. Not to mention that fact that Momma (and possibly the kitties) think it is freezing in this house. We have a feeling Momma will be turning the heat on sooner rather than later. So at bedtime last night Monte and I jumped into bed. Shortly thereafter Sporkie came too and then the surprise - Tanner jumped into bed. I'ze not sure when this happened, it must have been after I was asleep, I only know that when we woke up, he was in bed with us. :-) I guess he's made peace with us, even if it's just in the dark.

We'ze Home

When Momma came to pick us up from Aunt Corey's yesterday we were playing on the front yard waiting for her. Aunt Corey has told us Momma was on her way but it seemed like an eternity before she got there. We went bezerk when we saw her! And for a double surprise, as soon as Momma got there the icy cream truck came by. Good thing Aunt Corey was buying (she got each of us one) cause they icy cream truck didn't take Euros and Momma didn't have any Dollars on her. Poppa met us in the driveway as soon as we arrived at our house and shortly thereafter we went to the park. We hadn't been swimming in a while and it was nice to be able to do so. We also met a new pup named Cruiser. After the park and dinner we all lounged around and got caught up on some tv watchin. Momma and Poppa were ready for bed by nine so we all went upstairs and climbed into bed. Look who's in charge again! Apparently Poppa will be away all next week - guess we'll have to sleep in bed then too so we can get Momma snug.

No one likes a tattle tale but....

Monty has a new plan to get us out of this place & make sure Momma & Poppa never leave us again! He thinks that if he does enough stuff to drive Aunt Corey crazy that she'll tell Momma we can't stay here anymore and then they won't be able to go away anymore! The nighttime part of the plan is twofold - some nights he cries every hour or so in the hopes of waking up everyone. Other nights he is silent - causing Aunt Corey to wake up in a panic in the middle of the night thinking that something is wrong because she hasn't heard him.. hahahaha! His daytime plan is to poop as often as possible, in as many places as possible. Aunt Corey is counting how many piles she is picking up from the yard, and I think I heard her say she was on 18 since Friday. Of course he is very strategic about, so of course she missed a few, and today not one but TWO kids stepped in it - hehehe! I, of course, am remaining my perfect and innocent self and just watching to see if his plan works. So far, no, she has not given up yet, but we (I mean HE!) still have almost 4 full days to work on her. Nothing much else going on, yesterday we got to play in leaf piles. Today Larissa came over to check on us today when Aunt Corey was at work and we made sure to give her lots of licks. And Maddy took me for a ride in her wagon today - I'll try to get Aunt Corey to post pictures later. Now we're just waiting for Uncle Crumley to get home so Aunt Corey can take us for our walk - especially since she skipped this morning because she went to work a 5am - apparently Momma didn't tell her that she is supposed to work from home to accomodate OUR schedule like she does!!!

So it's day three of us being banished from our home

This place is a little better than Aunt Corey's old house because we can stare out the front door and bark at people a lot, but it's worse because there are no dog neighbors. We go outside and no one greets us, all we can do is chase the squirrels. Monte doesn't like sleeping downstairs, I take care of that by going upstairs, but they don't let me stay for some reason??? I don't know why Momma & Poppa didn't tell them that I am allowed to sleep wherever I want! Aunt Corey has been taking us for walks every morning and night, so at least that's something. And Uncle Crumley feeds us left over meat - Aunt Corey told him not to, so now he throws it in the backyard when we happen to be out there. The only good part of this place where dogs are just, apparently, pets, instead of King and Queen of the world, is the kids love to give us pettings! Maddy is always givin us lovin, and sometimes Lauren does too! We went to pick up Lauren from school on Friday and EVERYONE wanted to pet us and tell Aunt Corey how well behaved we are. It was also pretzel sale day outside of the school, so we made Aunt Corey work really hard to keep us away from them, I can't believe not a single kid dropped one for us - what a bummer. Aunt Corey also had people over on Friday night and we got lots of lovin from Frank & Maggie's mom. Five more days of this punishment and then we get to go back to our proper place in the world - IN CHARGE!!!!!

Snake Sighting

Our first one in NJ and it wasn't good. We'ze was in the park this afternoon with Coby and his Dad. We'ze was walking along the trail, saw it and walked right by - we'ze know Momma doesn't like them (putting it mildly). But Coby pointed it out to his Dad who didn't know how Momma feels and when he said - "oh - a snake" - Momma started sprinting. It's gonna be tough now because Momma is the one that always walks us and she's kinda terrified.

Luckiest Pups Ever

Last night we went over to Aunt Corey's for Lauren's bday. There were 7 kids and some puppy loving parents there so we got lots of pettins and attention. They had Chinese for dinner and I'ze love me some Chinese. Momma drew the line though when Aunt Corey wanted to give me some scallops. (they looked like eyeballs!). And today we'ze got two walkins. We went with Momma and Poppa to the park in the morning and then again with Momma and Aunt Corey tonight.

First my brother, Carley and me took a drive over to the lake for a walk and then headed over to the ice cream shop. YumYum.

It's been a nice long weekend for us

On Friday night we went for a walk with momma and poppa in the park - poppa got out of work early on friday because of the long labor dayweekend. It was nice to go with him. We met a pup named Vader in the park. His parents were in town looking at houses in our neighborhood - we hope they move here cause he was fun to play with. We also brought back some vines in hopes of growing some honeysuckle in the backyard. I hope it works cause I really like the smell. On Saturday morning, momma took us for a long walk around the lake. We managed to get nice and muddy and chased lots of ducks and geese. It was a pleasant change to our routine because we'ze hasn't been to the lake in a long time and the weather wasn't too hot. After that we with her to run errands while our kitchen counters were being installed. We ran over to Aunt Corey's to feed Kitty while they were away and to mail a package to momma's friend Suter who is over in Afghanistan. When we returned we helped poppa do some yard work. There were baby bunnies in the yard and momma relocated them to our front garden where they could eat all they veggies they'd like. Momma an poppa have been busy all weekend doing housework but they took time off last night and we went over to Carley's house to play for a while. That was fun cause we had rawhides, got pettins and built a fire. Momma had to work today but after she got done we all went to the park again - Fall is definitely in the air, the leaves are changing and there is a crispness to the air. I can't wait for the cool weather. Momma did a lot of shopping this afternoon too. I don't know what she got but I heard something about christmas gifts for the pups!

It's Quiet Again

The Pugs have gone home and all is quiet again - well unless we hear a noise and then we go nuts. Anyway, the Pugs Mom had to stop by yesterday b/c apparently Frank stole one of Poppa's screw drivers. Momma did know that Frank had a thing for taking her shoes to his crate but didn't realize he was stealing tools too!

The Puglies

are still here. They'll be going home tomorrow. I'ze like them and all but I can't wait to have Momma all to myself again. The Puglies like to monopolize her time and jump all over her whenever she sits down and they follow her everywhere. That's my job!

slumber party

for the first time ever another puppy slept in bed with us. now normally we'ze not allowed to sleep in bed all night, only when Momma or Poppa is away. the conditions were perfect last night. poppa was away which meant that we could sleep in bed with momma. carley was sleeping over last night too so momma let her sleep in bed with us. i think carley really enjoyed it. frank and maggie are still here but they need to sleep in a crate at night so they wasn't able to sleep in bed with us. poppa will be home later - i'ze can't wait.

It's going to be madness!

Poppa is finally home tomorrow. I'ze can't wait. I've really missed him although I guess I won't be able to sleep in bed anymore. Kobe is still here and we're all having fun together, he goes home on Saturday. Carley is coming over tomorrow afternoon and staying til Sunday and on Saturday Frank and Maggie will be here. They'll stay til next weekend. So at some point on Saturday there may be 6 dogs here!!! How cool is that???? Poppa doesn't seem to agree with that. Good thing DOGS RULE.

so much fun

it's been a fun weekend and the coming week looks to be promising also. Aunt Jen was here yesterday and today for a while. She went out with Momma and Poppa last night so Charis was over to babysit - we really like her! Kobe came over this morning and he'll be spending the week with us while his parents are away. Poppa is leaving for Chicago tomorrow and Uncle Ditz is here today. He's staying with us indefinitely - maybe a day, a week, a month- who knows.

It's gonna be a scorcher again today

Poppa told me that it was 91 degrees when we went to bed last night. And when I jumped into Momma and Poppa's bed this morning at 5:30 the news said it was already 78! I said to Momma 'hurry up Momma, lets go play now before the sun comes up". So Momma got up right away and took us to the park. We met so many new dogs we'ze never met before. It was fun seeing who's normally there when we'ze not. I think we'ze gonna have to start going at all different times so that we can meet more friends.

A Play Date

This is out new friend Zack. He came over to play with us today for a few hours. That was a nice surprise. While he was here we all went for a walk to the park and met up with our Golden friends, Cheyenne and Sonny who are brother and sister too!

We're getting ready for the week ahead now and hoping to not be as crazy as the last. Losts of construction and loud noises going on. One thing that we're not looking forward to this week is the weather. The news this week is gonna be a hot one. 102 on Tuesday.

We have a guest

Kobe's been staying with us since Friday while his parent's are on vacation. He really likes the sunroom - I'ze think it's cause he's got so much hair and the tile is nice and cool. I'ze like having him here because when he's here Poppa goes to the park with us too so that Momma doesn't need to walk all of us at one.

Panic Alert

Momma was heading out yesterday and did her normal four legged baby head count when she couldn't find Sporkie. Momma searched the entire house - closets, under the bed, in the tub, in the crawl space - no sign of her. Monte and me was looking for her too - we don't want anything bad to happen to our sister otherwise who would smack us around? Also, Momma said she'd give a bone to who ever found her. Tanner wasn't interested in helping. He said with her gone that mena more food for him. The second Momma stepped of the front steps of the house and started calling out to Sporkie she came over from the side of the house. What a relief - our sister is home unharmed and there were treat for everyone.

My Very Own Pumpkin Patch

these are the tiny little pumpkins that are pictured in my June 26th post. I hope that I have lots of pumpkins so that I can have my very own Great Pumpkin this year.

I think they'll grow tons! They still have 3 months to grow and I know I grew tons in 3 months!

Sleepy Sunday Morning

A Golden Party

Momma took us to the park really early today cause it's gonna be another hot one. As we walked along we met up with Frank and Maggie. frank was trying to act all tough with the other pups until Monte went up to him and then he calmed right down again. We kept walking and ran into Cooper and Sandy and played with them for a while. Cooper was being a bit antisocial sitting in the shade chewing on a stick. He finally came around. Then Kobe was going for a drive with his Dad when they spotted us and stopped to play too. We'ze was exhausted by the time we got home. And Momma says I am really stinky and getting a bath today!! I HATE BATHS!!!

It's the weekend

Poppa's home today. The new kitchen is coming along. He's layed most of the tile. The electrical got done today and the sheetrock guy will be here Monday. Yippee!

It was a busy weekend

Poppa did a lot of work in our kitchen this weekend. He tore down the walls, took out all the cabinets, pulled up the floor and started laying the new tile. The new floor is looking nice but my belly has paid the price. With him being so busy he hasn't had as much time as usual to give me pettins'. I'ze not complaining though. I went for three rides with Momma on Saturday as well as going to the park Saturday and Sunday and getting rawhides. :-)

Poppa's Away

Uncle Scott and Aunt Jen stayed over last night. They went home today at the same time that Poppa left for the airport today. At first I'ze was experiencing some empty nest syndrome - all these hands to pet me and now I was left with only two! And Momma was telling me how she still needed to pet Monte, Sporkie and Tanner. I can't wait for Poppa to get back and have an extra set of hands available. Momma told Poppa this morning that she had a dream last night that she went to visit my Canine parents and they had more puppies and she was planning to get two. She's not sure how the dream ended because Sporkie woke her out of her dead sleep. We think Sporkie could somehow tell what Momma was dreaming about and was thinking "Hell No - no more dogs!!" Well, it's bedtime and we miss Poppa but we're feeling better cause we're all sleeping in bed tonight. :-)

This week's wrap-up

I'm just now finding a little bit of time to blog about my week - it's been action packed hence the no time to blog. I spent Monday and Tuesday recovering from all the weekend's excitement. Finally on Wednesday, I was ready for action. First my friend Kobe came over for a playdate - that was fun. We met Kobe at the park - he's name after Kobe Bryant but much cuter. Later the same day Cole came over - she was sleeping over cause her Mom and Dad went to the shore for a few days. On Wednesday afternoon we were all sitting in the living room when my brother heard a noise on the deck and went to check it out. He started growling and Momma told him to leave the poor bunny alone. Momma assumed there was bunny in the yard cause they really like our yard. Monte kept growling so Momma went out to the sunroom to talk to Monte when she realized Monte was growling cause Kitty was outside - oh my!!! Get in here Kitty. She must have sneaked out on of the time that me, my brother or Cole were going outside. A similar situation occurred on Thursday, except when Momma went to look outside, there was a raccoon knocking to come in the door. I think he must have known that this is the house where you can get good eats and good lovins'. Cole went home on Friday. Yesterday night Frank and Maggie came over. My brother and I were at the park when Frank and Maggie arrived. Momma tried to take F&M for a walk except Maggie has a different idea. She didn't want to go to the park, she wanted to go home instead. While Momma was outside trying to get them to the park, we came home and met up with them on the street in front of our neighbor's house. The neighbors were out too and we were all talking, when Maggie wiggled out of her harness. Four adults tried to close in on her but she kept running around all the adults and leading the adults on a wild chase. It was pretty funny but Momma didn't think so. Well Maggie finally took off and can you believe that she ended up back at her house???? Luckily she lives close by! Momma chased her for blocks til she lost sight of her. Then Poppa drove up and so did our neighbor. Momma drove over to Maggie's house to tell her Momma what was going on and Maggie's' mom was standing outside her house holding Maggie in her arms. In hindsight it was pretty funny but at the time it was happening, it was not funny at all. It was an all out panic!!! Momma took Frank back home last night and their Mom brought them back this morning. So F&M have been here all day and no escapes yet! On a sad note, Kitty went home today. While I'ze know it was time, I'ze gonna miss stealing her food. Tomorrow the fun continues... Ditz and Jen are coming over - we'ze can't wait to get pettins from them!

July 1, 2008 Update

If you go back and read this post, my friend Scout's Dad told me that he knew another Golden named Sunshine who lived just around the corner from me. Well last night I was playing on the front lawn with my brother and Katie when a Golden came walking up the street with her Momma. When I asked her named she said it was Sunshine. I couldn't believe it. Finally, I met the other Sunshine. She's cute but my Momma says I'm cuter. :-)

Happy 4th of July

We'ze had a good day today. Mostly because it's Saturday and day #2 of Poppa's 3 day weekend with us.

We'ze went to Carley's house for a little while this morning and again tonight. And we went back tonight and Carley's Poppa let us have some fillet of tuna. yummy! I'd never had that before - it was de-lish. But don't tell Momma - she doesn't know. Carley's Poppa snuck it to us.

We also went to Aunt Corey's today. Uncle Scott was passed out most of the time. He's got a wicked sunburn.... it's not good being as pasty as him. Monte spent most of the time at Aunt Corey's looking out the window in the front door. Momma's thinking about changing our front door so Monte can have the same thing at our house. The fireworks tonight kinda scared us so I think we'ze gonna get to sleep in bed tonight.

It's Sporkie's Birthday

Blackout

We'ze sitting out on the black (back) deck. We'ze been in the dark for almost an hour now. It's kinda cool. I'ze never experienced a blackout before. (I have experienced an earthquake though). Momma decided that since there was no power she needed to drink her bottle of sangria before it got warm. She's almost done. I'ze took a video of the darkness. I'll post it later when the power is back. In the meantime I will just hang out here on the deck with Momma, Poppa, my brother and the fireflies. Poppa called Uncle Darth. I'ze really hopin' he comes to visit soon.

Pumpkin Update

Our pumpkins are growing very nicely. Poppa and I transplanted them this weekend into a larger container cause they were getting a little cramped in the pot they were in. Can't wait to have our own pumpkins for Halloween. Also, one of out tomato plants has two tiny little tomatoes on it!! Will take pics and post them soon. Momma's been busy and I don't know where the camera is.

Anyway, we really missed our Poppa and we'll miss Momma too but we'ze gonna party this weekend while Momma is away.

They just got here!! They'll be sending the night here before heading over to their new house tomorrow. Or so they say. Kitty was just supposed to be here til the house sold but she's still here. :-) We actually like having her here though because it means more food for us since she never finishes hers and we take the left overs. I hear we're having pizza tonight!

Momma to the rescue

Last night we'ze went to the park with Momma and Poppa. In addition to meeting a new Golden named Bailey, Momma found a birdie laying in the grass. The little birdie couldn't fly or walk. I offered to pick him up and take him wherever he needed to go but Momma said that would probably just freak him out even more. He kept dragging his wings along the grass in order to move himself along. Momma was able to pick him up which caused him to pee on her - hehehe. Monte and I went ahead with Poppa and continued on our walk while Momma came back home with the birdie. She was able to find a wildlife refuge that would take the birdie right away so she rushed him on over there. They said they think he may have eaten something that was making him feel sick because it didn't feel like he had any broken bones or wings. They said the birdie was definitely a little fighter because he kept trying to bite everyone who held him - poor birdie was really scared.

We had a visitor last night

It looks like our bat house is working. But apparently they (or one of them) likes our house better. Something woke Poppa up last night. He opened his eyes and thought he saw something fly overhead. Then he realized that Sporkie and Tanner were sitting at the edge of the bed jumping up in the air. He made a noise that woke Momma up and told her that there was something flying around in the room. Momma ignored him cause she assumed it was a mosquito or fly. Then Poppa said - "I'm serious - wake up". Momma turned on the light and it was a bat!! I think he was just looking for a place to sleep. I wish I had gotten a pic or video but Poppa was screaming like a little girl and the mission was to get the bat out of the room asap. I'ze hoping he visits again tonight. I'll keep the camera next to the bed just in case.

Big Surprise

Momma gave us a big surprise on Friday. We knew something was going on and got very nervous because Momma was running around packing stuff like a mad woman. On Friday she packed us too - into the car that is. She has so much stuff in the car we barely fit.

After a long drive (long to us because we normally only travel less than 10 minutes) we arrived at our surprise. Momma took us to the shore for the weekend.

It was raining a ton on Friday and many of the streets at the shore were flooded but we braved the bad weather and walked over to the beach. It was great because there wasn't a single person out there. After we got back to the house, one of Momma's friends showed up and she stayed with us all weekend. Momma's friend brought her daughter Gabby with her and we LOVE Gabby. She pet us and hugged us the entire time that we were there. She even helped Momma take us for walks. We took full advantage and ate all of the food she'd accidentally leave on the table.

While at the shore, we got to the beach everyday - we were breaking the law because pups aren't allowed on the beach after April 1 but being an outlaw was worth it. We finally came home last night and Poppa was here waiting for us.

I'ze hear that Uncle Darth came over while I was away - I'ze very sad that I didn't get to see him. I hope he comes back soon. I love cuddling with him and making his allergies act up.

Birthday Time

We just got home from a birthday party. But not just any birthday party - a birthday party for Frogga. According to Maddy, Frogga just turned 22 - apparently frogs age 22 years every 6 months because Maddy and Momma got Frogga together in November.

I'ze had such a wonderful weekend. We camped out in our yard on Saturday night - that was a lot of fun. I'd say it was even more fun that camping in the woods because I was in my own backyard and had all the luxuries of home. Oh and I didn't have to worry about fending off coyotes and bears.

We got up early on Saturday morning and went for a long walk around the lake. We took some bread with us because there are little baby ducks and geeses in the lake and I'ze thing they are very hungry. And by how fast they ate up all the bread they clearly were. I was hoping that I would be able to swim with them but when I got too close thye'ze got scared, so I hung back and took video.

Then on Saturday night - after a nap with Momma - we went over to Carley's house to play - that was fun! We got lots of treats which almost makes up for the fact that the icy cream truck has been coming around every day and Momma isn't getting me any.

It's been a packed day

The day started with Momma running to the pet store to buy us food. With the vet putting us on a diet and me being really picky with my food lately, Momma decided to try something new. I had it at dinner tonight for the first time and it's very colorful - not like the normal brown kibble I get and it tastes pretty good. Also this morning Dale came over. I'ze met him before. He's a friend of Cole's dad and he was here cause Momma's having him do some housework for her... I'm hopin' that includes some pettins. This afternoon Momma and Poppa (mostly Poppa) planted a new flower garden on the side of our sunroom - it's gonna be interesting to see how it all works out cause it's all bulbs and roots - no actual flowers or big plants. Also this afternoon Poppa put up our bat houses - I'ze hopin' to get occupants soon. After all this we layed around for a bit and took a nap and watched some Sopranos reruns. Then Momma said we were going to go camping tonight - in the yard. So Poppa set up the tent and I'ze already checked it out - I can't wait! Tonight we'ze all went to the park and we'ze met a pup named T-Rex. If you can't guess by the name - he's huge! And he's only one year old - he's a German Sheppard and he towers over my brother. Summer is definitely here cause the mosquitoes are out - that's why we got the bat houses. Momma and Poppa got bit all over whiel at the park tonight. Poppa's actually considering putting up bat houses himself in the park to help with the bat problem. Wow - that must mean we're gonna be here for a while. Well - it's almost 10pm and my bedtime. I better go get ready for camping!

I'M PISSED

Momma and Poppa tricked me today. They told me I was going to the vet to get Momma's squirrel bite looked at (yeah, Momma's a dummy, she tried to feed a squirrel when she was in TX. Apparently the squirrel thought Momma's finger looked better than the cookie she was trying to feed him.) Anyway - we'ze was at the vet for a checkup for me. AND the vet said I need to lose 15 lbs!!!! NO WAY! Momma says I won't be getting ice cream every day anymore! This isn't fair!! Monte needs to lose 10.

Momma's Away

Momma's gone for the weekend to visit Poppa. They are in Austin, TX and I'm staying with Aunt Corey. It's a girls weekend cause Uncle Crumley is gone for the weekend. Monte is here but heavily outnumbered. I talked to Momma earlier and she said she saw the coolest thing! There is a bridge in Austin where bats live underneath. At dusk they all fly out to go find food - 1.6 million bats!!! How cool is that! She said she wasn't able to catch any to bring home for my bat houses though. We say Rocky yesterday. His neighbor is building a pond and Rocky got to play in it. Aunt Corey said no way to us because the pond was a big mud puddle right now - darn. We're having fun here with L&M and last night I ran upstairs at bedtime to say goodnight. I wish Aunt Corey would let me sleep with them. I wonder what we'll do today. I miss you Momma and Poppa - can't wait to see you when you return tomorrow.

The Bat Houses are on their way

I'ze just got an email that says they'll arrive tomorrow. Momma and Poppa learned all about bats when they went to the Grand Canyon last year. They brought me home some pics and they are adorbable. Then I started noticing them when I went to the park at night. They are so graceful - they way they glide through the sky. So Momma ordered some bat houses for me a couple of weeks ago and they're finally arriving. Yippee! I can't wait to have Poppa put them up for me. I'm going to go to the park late tonight so that I can spread the news to as many of them as possible. I think they'll find the new housing to be enjoyable and spacious. Each one fits up to 20 bats so they can have lots of friends over all the time!!!

Happy Mother's Day!

Poppa is home tomorrow!!!

I can't wait for Poppa to get home tomorrow. I'ze got so many kisses saved up for him! In addition to missin' him it's been rainin' all week. We'ze sick of the rain. Although the sun did come out for a while this afternoon and Momma took us to the park for a long walk. We ran into Cooper and played for a while. Then we saw Lucy and played with her and her human sister. Her human sister kept throwing sticks in the creek for us to go fetch. It was so much fun. Poppa - we miss you - can't wait for you to get home.

and I'm not happy about it. The good things though is that I've been sleeping in bed for two weeks now and hopefully will continue to do so for the next two weeks. :-) I'm really spoiled these days. I'm kinda sad too cause I just found out that Cole isn't coming over tomorrow. She was supposed to be here for a few days but her parents cancelled their plans. Darn. We were looking forward to a puppy sleepover.

It's 90 degrees and Momma is missing it

Well it's not 90 yet but it's supposed to get there today. It was a scorcher yesterday too. Poppa took us to the park nice and early this morning. It was a beautiful mornin in da park.... Not too hot, and da grass was nice and dewey to cool my pads :)

Momma is still in Amsterdam

Momma calld the other day to tell us that she saw two pups that were playing together and they looked Monte and our friend Cooper - it made her really home sick but the nice Dutch people let her pet the pups for a little while and that made her feel a bit better. Normally, I'd' be screaming CHEATER but she's away for a while so I will let this one slide. She says we would really like Amsterdam-there is a park near her hotel where all the puppas go to play in the mornings. We love parks!!! Poppa took us again last night and went for a really big swim.

I'm my momma's daughter

Poppa said the other night somethin to de effect of 'sunny... You really are your momma's daughter.... You say you need to be held as you go to sleep just like her'. :-) I miss my Momma. But Poppa has been doing a good job of walking us at night even though it's rained a lot here this week. And Aunt Corey, Carrie next door and Carley's dad have all been checking on us too. Can't wait for the weekend so we can have Poppa here all day

I'm kinda sad today. Our house guests are leaving today and even though they've stolen some of my attention, played with my toys and woken me in the middle of the night with their howling, the little cats in a dog costume have kinda grown on us. It's been especially fun chasing them. HaHa... you should see their little legs move. And their kinda cute - but not as cute as me.

Also, Momma leaves for Amsterdam tonight. We're trying to convince her to stay by smothering her in kisses.

They're Here!

They arrived yesterday morning. We had fun yesterday barking back and forth at each other all day. Momma and Poppa went a bit nuts. At night I got a little scared cause I thought coyotes had broken in but it was just Frank howling. Poppa keeps calling them pups but I don't see how that's possible. They are more like my siblings Sporkie and Tanner. They can weave in, out and through my legs. I think they are cats dressed up in tiny dog costumes. Momma says she's taking us all to the park today. That's gonna be fun!

I saw my first bunnies of the year this week. They must have all been coming out to prepare for today.

Look at my eggs!! There are eight. Me, Monte, Tanner, Sporkie, Red, Kitty, Momma and Poppa all did one.

Spring can't make up it's mind

I'ze hasn't had time to write over the last week. Momma has been busy and she hasn't had much chance to help me post. Our cherry blossom tree is in full bloom. It's gorgeous. Unfortunately, it was very rainy and windy this weekend and we already lost some flowers. If I could have a wish, I'd hope that the flowers stayed there forever - but alas, that won't happen. So I look forward to the day a week or so from now when all the flowers starts to fall and I can prance around under the tree while little flowers rain down on me. :-) Speaking of trees, the town cut down the tree in front of my friend Elvis' house yesterday. Elvis' dad said the tree had some dead hollow parts inside but I'ze sure couldn't tell. I'ze told Elvis I would plant another tree for him. Maybe in our yard where the town won't cut it down. (by I, I meant Momma - Momma add that to your to do list.) With the springs comes the return of gardening which I am especially fond of because Momma lets us sit on the front lawn while she gardens. Yesterday we planted some hyacinths and the tulips we planted last fall have sprouted and will bloom soon. Momma says she's also hoping to plants some stuff in the yard this year - apparently she's forgottenhow we used to tear up all the flowers that grew at the Reno house. They were tasty!! Carley was here visiting with her human brother the other day. We played for a little while. But I'ze decided we can't have anymore pups in this house cause it just takes away from my pettings. They can stay and visit for a while, but no more siblings for us. I'ze haven't sold this one to Momma yet. And our little friends Maggie and Frank are coming to visit next week. Yay! We had fun the last time they were here. And with next week being spring break we think there's a good chance that the icy cream truck will be making an appearance. Momma's already got icy cream money ready and waiting by the door. I bet Maggie and Frank will love icy cream. Easter is on Sunday and we still haven't colored our eggs. Poppa hard boiled them for us on Sunday and something's come up every night since. I'ze really hoping we'll get to it tonight.

A new buddy named Buddy

We went to the park yesterday. The weather was really nice unlike the dreary darkness that is out there today. We saw Dixie and made a few new friends including a Jack Russel named Jack, a Dalmatian with brown spots named Eli (he was a real cutie) and a Golden named Buddy. We were walking on the other side of the creek from him when we met up and he instantly jumped in the creek and came over to our side to play. That's our second Golden friend named Buddy!!

Kitty vs Sporkie

I don't know if I mentioned it before but Kitty has been staying with us... and Sporkie isn't happy about it. But even more so Kitty isn't too thrilled about sharing her vacation house with Sporkie. Every time that Sporkie enters a room Kitty starts to yell at her. Yesterday, Monte was laying in our bed in the living room and Kitty was on the couch. Sporkie went downstairs into the living room and Kitty instantly started screaming. Sporkie wasn't about to back down that easily. And Momma is of the opinion that they needed to settle their differences on their own. As you can see from the pic, the two got in each other's face. Momma finally had enough when Monte ran upstairs looking for her to protect him.

Slumber Party

Momma and Poppa were away last night so Charis came to stay with us. We had lots of fun. She brought two little girls over with her and we had a slumber party. It was kinds like camping but indoors. Momma and Poppa are back now and I'ze so happy to see them - not cause we didn't have fun - cause we did (Charis even took us for a walk). But we missed them.

It's nap time now

The weekend started with us going over to Aunt Corey's on Friday night for cake and pizza for Uncle Crumley's b-day. The cake was chocolate because that's his fave - I don't know why that matters though - I can't eat chocolate. But I did get some left over pizza - it was delicious. On Saturday Momma brought L&M over and they took us to the park. Then in the afternoon we all sat out on the front lawn and played with the neighbor. L&M slept over and left early this morning. But then they were back in the afternoon and took us to the park again. Today Poppa went with us too and we spent two hours at the park and played with so many other pups! On the way back we were very tired from all the fun. We let Lauren walk us and she did really well. It's good to know when we stay at her house, she can walk us if Aunt Corey is too tired or busy. They've gone home now and they only downside to the weekend is that the girls didn't eat any meals here so they didn't drop any food for us. Although we did manage to steal and animal cracker this afternoon. Now we're napping and loving it. We're loving the spring weather too!

Proof that Spring is in the air

Happy St. Patty's day everyone. It was the most beautiful day here today with temps in the mid 50 (it's supposed to be even nicer tomorrow). In celebration of St. Patty's we wore our shamrock bandanas today. We went for a long walk and everyone was complimenting me - I'ze eat that up!! One guy even said "Top of the mornin' to ya". That was quite odd given that it was actually afternoon and that the entire time that we lived in Ireland we never heard anyone say that even once. People also stopped to ask Momma if we were Irish Setters.

Monte went for a nice swim - he was paddling out to try and get some ducks in the lake but they swam away too quickly for him. I swam a little too but I don't go out as far as Monte does - someone needs to keep and eye on Momma and make sure she doesn't run away.

The weather right now really is perfect - it's not too cold or to hot - it's just right. We're so glad that Spring is here and that all that terribly cold weather and gray days are behind us. And look at the flowers I saw in the park.

Two little pugs

came to visit us today. They are tiny compared to me and my brother. I'ze say each one of them is the size of my head. They'ze pretty little. They were here to meet us because they are going to stay with us when their family goes on vacation in April. I'm kinda lookin forward to having them over. They'ze full of energy and it's going to be fun watchin Momma try to keep them off the couch. If I have my preference she'll allow them on the couch cause then she'll have to allow Monte and me too. I forgot to have Momma take pics today but don't worry I'll have plenty when they are here. Other than that, it's been pretty quiet over here with Poppa gone. Mabel's dad came over for a little bit yesterday - he's allergic to us so we tried to rub up against him as much as we could. :-) Only two more nights without Poppa.

Spring is in the air!

We'ze had such a wonderful weekend. The weather was absolutely wonderful all weekend long. On Friday we went for a two hour walk - it was great. We made a new friend name Chase. He's a five month old yellow lab. We also met up with Dixie and Carley. Carley and us walked all the way home too.

The weather was equally wonderful yesterday and Carley came over to visit for a while. Later in the day, Momma and Poppa took us to the park. But first we dragged Momma across the street to visit with Elvis. Elvis was sitting outside watching his Poppa wash the car but called us over as soon as we came out. We also ran into Diogi on our way. The park was packed though. People and pups were all out in full effect.

Today the clocks changed which was a very welcomed event. It does get light later but the longer evenings are well worth it. We got up and went on a very long walk first thing in the morning. There weren't nearly as many people out today as there were last night, probably because it was so early. We walked around all of Audubon Lake and met a few new pups. On our way back we decided to do muddin'. Needless to say, Momma and Poppa were not very pleased with the result. We got a bath in the yard before we'ze was allowed to set foot in the house. Shortly after our bath Monte got in BIG trouble. Him and I were hanging out in the living room and he climbed on the couch. I told him to get down but Poppa caught him and Momma flipped. We'ze not allowed on the couch and I'ze ok with that but Monte says he needs to climb on the couch to look out the window otherwise how can he be expected to protect the house. Needless to say, the couch was wet and furry! After lunch Momma went out in the front to do some yard work and we'ze went with her. We sat out there for a couple of hours and ate our rawhides. We were very well behaved except for two times when pups came walking down the street and we ran up to them. We really liked sitting out front and watching the cars and people go by. It was a nice change of pace. Momma says that maybe we can do it again the next time it's nice out. Tonight we watched Nascar - Kurt Busch won - we hate him.

Now we're just laying around watching some tv and snuggling with Poppa while we can. He's away all week. We'll miss him. But that means that we'ze get to sleep in bed with Momma!!
